Stage 1 - pitch and putt / driving range and golf simulator
The proposed masterplan for the Eumundi Golf Farm on the Sunshine Coast aims to enhance the local community by attracting a new clientele of visitors to the town. The site formally a cane farm is a flood plain and is not suitable for permanent accommodation but is ideal for a golf facility with onsite water reserves and gentle changes in topography creating interest for all levels of golfers.
The project proposes low-impact modular facilities prefabricated off-site, ensuring ease of construction and the ability to relocate them if required. This flexible approach allows for adaptability to changing circumstances, ensuring the project's longevity and sustainability.
Emphasizing environmental responsibility, the master plan incorporates various sustainable initiatives. On-site wastewater treatment is achieved through raised irrigation trenches, which help to filter and purify the water before it returns to the natural environment. Solar panels produce renewable energy to power the facilities and reduce the project's carbon footprint.
The master plan recognises the significance of its location and aims to restore the natural ecosystem. Native plants and trees, such as the iconic bunya pine, will be reintroduced to the site, contributing to bank retention and enhancing biodiversity. This ecological approach not only preserves the region's natural heritage but also creates a harmonious environment where visitors can connect with nature.
The golf amenities aim to cater for the beginner to the advanced and embrace and maintain the natural undulations of the land which have a significant impact on the funnelling of water to the Maroochy river. A mob of Kangaroos has taken up residence on the block well before the golf facility and now form a unique feature setting the project apart and enhancing its appeal as a destination for visitors.
The master plan for the Eumundi Golf Farm demonstrates a thoughtful and community-focused approach. By offering a community facility, sustainable initiatives, and rejuvenation of the natural biodiversity the project aspires to invigorate the town's economy and create a memorable experience for all who visit.
